“We shall commemorate its 40th anniversary. It was on 16th October 1973 when the first six carriages arrived at the station in Krč delegated for the Prague metro service. It was an important step prior to its opening which is going to be celebrated next year,” stated Mr Pavel Fojtík, a head of the Prague Public Transport Archive. The carriages were transferd from Krč to the Kačerov depot.

Ečs carriages from the Mytiščinský factory replaced the Czech set which was developed for metro R1. They first served the public on 9th May 1974. The last Ečs set operated on 29th June 1997. However you can try these carriages soon. The DPP organises so called Nostalgic trips so those who love old technology can join in. The first ride will be on 19th October.
