47 concerts to look forward to

On Thursday 16th April from 8 a.m. to 9.45 p.m., some amazing live performances are taking place across the Prague metro entrance halls. 47 concerts are planned for this year's programme. Performers will include students from the Jaroslav Ježek Conservatory as well as professional musicians, and the PPTC choir presenting folk and spiritual songs at 4 p.m. in Vltavská.

Premiere at Nádraží Veleslavín

"Live music performances in metro stations are arranged annually by the PPTC and have always won very positive reactions from the passengers. Live music within the Prague metro is just a pleasant addition to their daily travel. On top of it, the artists have an opportunity to meet their potential fans and audience. We would like to keep this tradition going in future," commented Jaroslav Ďuriš, the general director of PPTC. Moreover, the newly opened Nádraží Veleslavín on Metro A line is introducing its first live performances this year.

Music of jazz, folk, pop or hard rock genres can be tuned in at Hlavní nádraží, Muzeum, Můstek (A and B), Florenc, Hradčanská and Vltavská. A jazz band called Trombone Five is playing at 7 p.m. in Florenc.
