ROPID opened an infocentre which will help passengers efficiently combine Prague public transportation with railways and buses. The infocentre is located at the Main Railway Station. “We will also help with connections to supra-regional transportations, as Prague integrated transport also includes some fast trains operated by Czech Railways,” said the chief of ROPID Pavel Procházka.

More services in the future

The infocentre is located at the Main Raiway Station in the place of the ticket office and is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. However, ROPID already has plans to extend the opening times and expand the centre’s services. “It will mostly depend on the interest of passengers, which is, according to our information, very strong,” added P. Procházka.

Growing interest in trains

The Main Railway Station is at the entrance gate to Prague for the largest percentage of people using Prague integrated transportation. Logically, the information centre was therefore set up there but we cannot exclude that other information centres which will open elsewhere, as there are more similar places in Prague. “The number of passengers using Prague integrated transport tickets on trains has been increasing every year. That is why we are trying to offer passengers further services,” said P. Procházka.  He added that people from suburban areas consider railways a natural part of the PIT system.
