Prague Has Best Restaurants
The independent Maurer’s Selection of the best Czech restaurants GRAND RESTAURANT 2011 is once again featuring the best TOP 100 restaurants in the Czech Republic. A total of six thousand independent evaluators decided that La Degustation Bohême Bourgeoise in Haštalska Street is the most outstanding restaurant in all of the Czech Republic.

Zoo – Most Visited Touristic Destination
The absolute number one touristic destination in the year 2009 was Prague Zoo with 1.29 million visitors. Thus it surpassed Prague Castle, which for many years had held the first position. The third place in the whole of the Czech Republic is held by the Aquapalace Prague, which is at the same time the winner in the Entertainment category.

Builders have discovered the oldest blocks of stone on Charles Bridge hidden behind a screen of bricks which covered the lower face of the foot of the first Old Town arch of the bridge.
