As the storm hit the city on Friday, a tree branch broke off the old tree and knocked down the gilded roof from the stone tower, which is a part of the sculpture of St. Barbara, Margaret and Elizabeth. The roof broke into pieces which were scattered on the bridge. Fortunately, a Municipal Police patrol was near, so they quickly picked all the broken parts.
The sculpture is a copy from Jan and Ferdinand Brokof’s workshop and had been recently restored. Now it needs restoration again. The good news is that the damage is not vast, so the restoration will only take a few days and will only cost a few thousand crowns.
