“The new area for homeless people to be quarantined is next to the existing camp in Troja,” Petr Hlubuček, Prague Deputy Mayor, said, explaining that there are separate areas for those in quarantine and those with confirmed cases of Covid-19 who do not need to be hospitalised.

The government directs the city to take care of everyone in the city, including the homeless. The city is responsible for the isolation of patients and the quarantine of people who may be infected.

“The new camp is outside the city centre, which will reduce the risk of infection. Considering that there was already a temporary facility in place for people who had been in hostels before their closure, this is an effective solution in regards to health and safety,” Petr Hlubuček adds.
