    This summer, you can admire the painter Eva Erbsová’s works in the lobby of the Škoda Palace. The painter exhibits regularly in the Škoda Palace, one of Prague City Hall’s buildings, in recent years. This time, she selected paintings inspired by exhibits of the National Technical Museum in Prague in Letná.

    Fans of new circus will be pleased to hear that Letní Letná, the popular new circus festival, will take place this year after all, and only part of the programme will be postponed until next year. The 17th annual Letní Letná festival will take place from the 18th to the 25th of August in Letenské sady in Prague. Unfortunately, the programme will not be the same, but it is still well worth a visit!

    Střelecký Island (‘Střelecký ostrov’ or simply ‘Střelák’ to the locals) in the heart of Prague not only offers scenic views of Charles Bridge and Prague Castle, and romantic walks in the shade of mature trees, but has also become a place for free outdoor public dancing in recent years.


    Many dance programmes and workshops take place on a pontoon that has been anchored to the island for several years, offering an additional stage and dance floor.

    Dancing is a pleasant social activity, as well as a manifestation of emotions. It is an art form, which brings the pleasure of moving to music to everyone, both spectators and dancers, whether they dance alone, in pairs or in groups.

    ‘Thank you Czech technicians’ is an exhibition in the National Technical Museum, which expresses their gratitude to Czechs technicians for their help during the coronavirus pandemic. The exhibition will be open in the museum building in Letná until the 30th of September.

    ‘Manet in Black-and-White’ is an exhibition of graphic works by the French painter Édouard Manet held in the National Gallery Prague. The exhibition will be open in the Graphic Cabinet on the 4th floor of the Trade Fair Palace until the 9th of August.

    The National Gallery Prague has been located in the Trade Fair Palace in Prague’s Holešovice district since 1976. Apart from the temporary exhibition of Manet’s lesser-known works, you can also visit the permanent exhibition of 20thand 21st century art located there.
  • Jun 15, 2020 Tour Prague on a culture tram
    A special ‘culture tram’ has begun touring Prague city. From the outside, the tram serves as a moving decoration for the streets of Prague, where it will ride through all year round; inside, it promotes various cultural events taking place in Prague. From time to time, events will also take place on the tram, which will be used as a mobile stage for concerts and theatre performances, or simply as a reading place.


    “Cultural life is finally slowly awakening after coronavirus. I am pleased that we can arrange cultural activities in this innovative way for the people of Prague too”, Hana Třeštíková, Prague City Councillor for Culture and Tourism, said.
  • Jun 14, 2020 Music Walks on Sundays at Prague Zoo
    ‘Hudební vycházky’ (Music Walks) are outdoor classical music concerts which take place in Prague Zoo in front of Gočár’s Houses. After fourteen successful years, the event has become a traditional part of summer at the zoo. Not only animal lovers, but also classical music fans, will be at the zoo every Sunday until the beginning of October.
    The open-air concerts will take place once again in front of Gočár’s Houses at the top of the zoo for two hours on Sundays. More and more music lovers seek out the event for its informal setting and quality music.
