Similar to other important institutions around the globe, the National Technical Museum in Prague is incorporating medical and technical exhibits related to the recent pandemic in their collections. Czechs specialists and technicians proved to be amongst the best in the world, and we all feel great appreciation for their excellent work.

New ventilator

An early prototype of the new CoroVent ventilator in the museum lobby is one of the most important exhibits. This unique device was developed in record time thanks to the hard work of Professor Karel Roubík’s team from the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering CTU in Kladno, and dozens of other experts from all over the Czech Republic.

Their goal was to develop and manufacture a reliable lung ventilator that could be immediately available to hospitals in case of large numbers of coronavirus patients.

Face masks and shields

The technicians and specialists in the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics (CIIRC CTU) also worked very hard, creating their new full-face mask, which is composed of a diving mask and a half mask CIIRC RP95, in an incredibly short time.
