The Bruncvík Boys Choir has been active for 14 years in Prague and more than 150 singers have been part of the choir over this time. The choir mainly focuses on making music and on the holistic development of its members.

More than anything, their main focus is on their love for music, and they will not let the pursuit of a perfect performance disrupt it. The choir works with professional musicians, as they believe that the best inspiration is a good example to follow.

Choir repertoire

The choir’s repertoire is very broad – from medieval chants to renaissance music, and from early baroque songs to spiritual music. They learn a lot of ethnic music, which the boys like and which inspires them.

The group works on various projects. The boys don’t just prepare the music for each one, but they also learn about culture, taste food, read books, and play games at camps and in classes, touching the subject with all their senses.

Christmas Market in Wenceslas Square

What can you expect from the choir at their Christmas concerts? This year, Bruncvík chose part of the Christmas repertoire from traditional hymn books. However, some of the music will certainly be more high-spirited, as can be expected from children.

Concert in Hlahol

Do you know the difference between Advent songs and Christmas carols? How about what Rorates are, or how children traditionally used to celebrate Christmas in villages? If not, make sure to come to the concert in Hlahol with the whole family.

The Bruncvík Boys’ Choir performances will certainly be one of the most unforgettable experiences this Christmas.
