The festival programme will range from those just starting their career to world-renowned directors, from comedies to dramas, from politics to culture, from the various problems people in Italy face every day to Italian customs, fashion trends and widespread tendencies; so you will have an opportunity to gain a complex insight into contemporary Italian society.

First film

‘Quanto Basta’ (‘As Needed’), a comedy about food and an exceptional friendship by Francesco Falaschi, will open the festival.

The film narrates the story of a successful Michelin chef who ends up in prison because of his uncontrollable anger. After being released, he must do community service, teaching a group of people with Asperger’s syndrome to cook. He discovers that one of his students is a culinary genius, and he helps him win a cookery competition. They become friends; a unique team who are not afraid to make their dreams come true.

New to the programme

As well as successful and fascinating movies, an interesting new feature will be part of this year’s festival: “The Prague Chamber Orchestra’s concert is also included in the festival programme. Conducted by Walter Attanasi, they will play compositions by Nino Rota, Nicola Piovani and Luis Bacalov selected from Federico Fellini's most famous films, which will officially launch the upcoming celebrations of the 100thanniversary of the birth of the world-renowned director,” Alberta Lai, the festival director, said.
