On the 26th of November, the Fair Trade Palace in Prague (‘Veletržní Palác’) will host an ambitious music project. A unique Czech platform for large format orchestral improvisation, Prague Improvisation Orchestra, will meet on one stage Jérôme Noetinger, a French master of electro-acoustic instruments.

Prague Improvisation Orchestra

Prague Improvisation Orchestra is an unconventional musical body composed of some of the most experimental and most creative artists in Prague. The orchestra was founded seven years ago. At the time, it was comprised of fifteen musicians. The orchestra engages dancers, light designers and visual artists from the Czech Republic as well as from all over the world.

The project unites the performers’ diverse experiences and ideas in one place. Interestingly, the orchestra does not have a steady repertoire. Even though the main themes in the music can be repeated, the performance as such is always a little bit different, so you never really know what to expect.

Master of sound

At the upcoming concert in the Small Hall in the Trade Fair Palace, Prague Improvisation Orchestra will be accompanied by a special guest from France, Jérôme Noetinger. The composer and improvise, who plays electro-acoustic devices, worked as the non-profit organisation Metamkine’s director for many years, and dedicated his work to the distribution of improvised and electro-acoustic music.

Noetinger will use ten tape recorders at the concert. He will record each musician live and change their sound.

Prague Improvisation Orchestra and Jérôme Noetinger’s concert in the Trade Fair Palace will certainly be a unique and unforgettable experience!
