Prestigious Czech race

The Prague race is very popular around the world, attracting thousands of fans every year from abroad and millions of TV viewers worldwide. The Czech Republic Grand Prix has a very good reputation, thanks to the high level, friendly atmosphere and pleasant environment of Markéta Stadium in Prague.

Speedway

What is speedway racing? Motorcycles race on a flat, oval-shaped track, which usually has a dusty surface. The short track is 260 to 425 meters in length. Four or more competitors compete with each other over multiple laps, individually, in pairs and in teams. The races are run anticlockwise.

Stars and the wild card

On the 15th of June, not only experienced international speedway racers, but also rising stars, will race. Fans can look forward to seeing the 2019 World Champion Tai Woffinden; the speedway audience favourite, Greg Hancock; the Russian rocket, Emil Sayfutdinov; the European champion Leon Madsen, and Janusz Kolodziej, back after a long break. Václav Milík, the best Czech racer, who finished third in 2017, has the Promoters’ Wild Card. Zdeněk Holub and Ondřej Smetana will be substitutes. Prague has the longest tradition in the World Championship series - the race has been held here since 1997.
