Triathlon race Ford Challenge Prague is one of the top races in the international Challenge Family series. Thousands of enthusiastic fans can watch this prestigious sports event right in the historical centre of the Czech capital.

“Ford Challenge Prague quickly ranked among the most prestigious events in the entire series for its unique venue in the historic city centre, as well as for the regular participation of more than more than thirty of the world’s top professional athletes, ” Tomáš Vrzák, the race director, said.

 

How to compete in a triathlon?

This individual and multisport race is made up of three parts – swimming, cycling and running. The race must be completed in the specified order and is comprised of 1.9km swimming, 90km cycling and 21.1km running.

 

Competitors and tracks

The Prague race is great as amateurs can meet professionals. Spectators will be able to see Czech elite racers as well as international stars.

The centre of the race is located on the Legion Bridge (‘Most Legií’) and finishes in Vítězná Street. The triathlon weekend will open on Friday on Střelecký Island with a children's cross-country race and the main race will start at the same place on Saturday.

Expo Fair

A part the event will be the Expo Fair, where you will have the opportunity to visit the stands of the event partners. Bicycles, regeneration and entertainment zones, and other various sales stalls will be available. Be sure to visit the My First Triathlon booth! It is a project organized by the Czech Triathlon Association, which makes it easy for beginners and amateur athletes to enter the world of triathlon. You will learn how to choose your first race, how to prepare for it and how to manage it.

The event is organised with the financial support of Prague City Hall. You will be able to visit their stand where you will be able to try a light sporting activity and be in a chance to win a small prize.
